At New Hope, we
have a variety of ways you can volunteer time. Click a link below to find a volunteer opportunity that
suits your schedule.
These activities involve a great deal of client contact and
require specialized training which is provided by the
center:
Receptionist Duties - You would answer phones, greet
clients, assist with minor office responsibilities, and be a
reception area ""counselor"" for those waiting for clients.
You may serve one or more four-hour shifts per month.
Hotline
Counselors - This would include scheduling client
appointments, receiving business calls when office is
closed, and doing minimum telephone hotline counseling. You
would be trained how to answer questions about abortion and
options that give life. You may serve one or more days per
month and calls would be forwarded directly to your home.
Client
Counselors - You would assist clients with pregnancy
testing, practical assistance, referrals, and general or
crisis counseling. You would be trained to discuss options
regarding their pregnancy while awaiting test results. We
would also provide in-service training through volunteer
meetings and other conferences/training. We prefer that you
volunteer a four-hour shift two to four times per month.
Post-abortion Support Group Leaders - You may want to
lead a Bible study directed toward healing for those
suffering the pain of a past abortion. These are held one
evening/day per week for 6 - 8 weeks periodically throughout
the year. You would be required to attend or co-lead a group
prior to being a leader.
Abstinence Education Presenters - You would teach
regarding sexually transmitted diseases, purity, and
relationships to youth in the public schools and churches.
Times would vary and additional training would be provided.
